Mass Called Round At 9 In The Morning,

she was going to show Diana how to make an apple and strawberry pie, the new parking restrictions on Pattaya Tai do not come in to force till 11 in the morning, you park on the right or left depending if the days date is odd or even, then if you get it wrong it is a 1,000 baht fine, ouch!
so like many people I park in the side streets, so those are now hopelessly blocked, the market is almost opposite the big temple complex and is a permanent one unlike Soi Bukaow which is only Tuesday and Thursday,
we are on the street outside, but it has a covered over area behind the front stalls,
the first jack fruit I have seen this year,
grapes are also in abundance,
stack them high, sell them cheap!
jelly sweets,
and the flower shop,
apples, Mass bought 10 and a small pack of strawberries,
a look around the inside, Thai food wise you can buy pretty much everything here,
small live eels, I am not sure if these are used as food or they are let free to make merit, I have never seen this type of eel eaten,
the same applies to these terrapins, or some would say freshwater turtles,
then on to the seafood section,
we were going over to see Mr. Tony in the afternoon for a bar-b-q, he had said that he had bought chicken and spare ribs which he was going to marinade, but the girls wanted to bring some seafood as well,
a shot along one of the alleys in the market,
butchers area next, notice the chicken feet on the left, very popular out here in soups,
the choice of shrimps has been made,
and riza bring some squid,
now some noodles,
and the 3 little piggies,
and some herbs,
also there is a cosmetics area with shoe and clothes stalls,
we are now on our way out going past the herbs stalls again,
on to the fruit and vegetable stalls to buy a papaya,
boiled eggs ready to go,
the girls were then off to Friendship, but I took this lot home to put in the fridge,
then it was time to start cooking the apple and strawberry pie,
then at 1.30 it was over to Mr. Tony's, as it is the rainy season his pond now has water in it and thousands of tadpoles,
the garden and drive immaculate as ever,
orchids in flower,
inside the plants around the pool have really started to grow,
Mass, Booie, Precil and Gig, all ready to start the party,
Diana and Riza preparing the shrimps,
garlic bread for starters,
a friend of Booies, Bee, was also there with her pet cat, which is looking a bit apprehensive as Mr. Tony has 3 dogs,
although this one looks fierce it is in fact smiling, strange but true,
the girls starting to arrange everything in the kitchen,
the gas is lit and it is all go,
shrimps and herbs pan fried, they smelt delicious,
and the finished dish,
the first of the boys food arrives, chicken legs served by Gig,
Booie and Mass having fun in the kitchen,
the girls food is served,
me playing with the cat, who is still looking for the dogs,
the cat has a football strip on,
Manchester United, football is very popular out here,
I wonder what the cat is thinking?
then the main course jacket potatoes, spare ribs and a huge selection of home made sauces,
Gig is overseeing the bar-b-q outside,
whilst Riza tries to get Precil to climb the tree for coconuts,
meanwhile inside we are all tucking in,
Booie starting to prepare some of the coconuts, some juice used for cooking and some to drink,
Diana took this picture of the girls sharing a joke,
now for the treat, Mass's home made apple and strawberry pie,
with cream or custard, it was so nice, then a few more drinks and we put the world to rights,
which meant Mr. Sleep had to pay a visit,
Mr. Tony enjoying the music, or did Mr. Sleep call here as well? a lovely time was had by all, everyone brought a little food or drinks, but full praise must go to the ladies who looked after us so well, also many thanks to Mr. Tony for putting up with us!

Excellent Blog for the B.B.Q. ..

The pictures in the market of the chicken's feet and pig heads; reminds me of a time I had lunch with a Thai family, in their home.

I was told 'chicken for lunch', which was fine by me. When the chicken came out, is was the WHOLE chicken! i.e. just the feathers plucked, and complete with head, beak, feet and claws! It was quite un-nerving at the time, but tasted ok!

Oh boy, was that a fat cat belonging to Bee! You ask : "I wonder what the cat is thinking?" The cat is probably thinking : "Why am I in a Manchester United kit! .. It should be Arsenal!"

Dear Anonymous, glad that you like the blog, I had a similar experience, I was asked if I wanted some duck soup, nice though it was I was not expecting to find half a duck head in the bottom of the bowl! I have to say I do not follow sports so I guess Arsenal must be the better team? best regards, Stan and Diana.
