Kieth Called Round In The Morning,

we paid our yearly bill for the maintenance of our burglar alarm, but as always he is very busy, his phone going non-stop with calls of new business coming his way, but he had scheduled in a couple of cups of coffee as we chatted away the morning, in the evening we had decided to call back to the Indian restaurant that we visited last week on Second Road,
the Royal Indian Hut, the road is now almost half way finished, so by the end of the high season at the end of February it should be back in service,
we were lucky that the window seat was available, it is quite nice sitting there with a glass of medicinal red wine watching the world walk past.
there was a party of 8 Thai students in the restaurant as we arrived, but there were just finishing their meal as we walked in, 'Cheers!' from me,
I then half way through the meal realised I had not taken a picture of the food, this week rice, chicken tikka massalla, but for a change chicken dopiaza, which means 'two onions' also a large slice of butter naan bread, cost including 3 or 4 glasses of wine was 905 baht, we had a chat about India, I asked Diana if she liked the thought of visiting there, 'yes, I would love to see the pyramids!' was the reply, I must buy an atlas,
we then took a walk to Walking Street to have a look around, not too busy looking towards Soi Blues Factory,
not too many people, the view looking towards Bali Hai pier as we enter the street,
Diana posing by some one selling Christmas hats,
regular readers of the blog will remember that we used to eat in a restaurant near Champions, the Bier Kitchen as it was called, but now gone and being made into a Findig shoe shop,
from memory this is a first, a gay bar on the ground level in Walking Street, normally the area divides itself into two areas, Boys Town and Walking Street, but who knows the move from the traditional area might be the correct move for this bar,
strange there does not seem to be as many people here as there were a few weeks ago,
last week we watched the cowboy magician, this week the street show was a Michael Jackson impersonator,
his trick revolved around this table,
which he levitated in the air, great fun to watch,
there were two relatively new go-gos in the street, Fahrenheit,
and Alcatraz,
whilst walking I spotted this two-stroke motorcycle,
it was relatively old as it had the 'plunger' type rear suspension,
I could not make out if it was a MZ or CZ brand,
or maybe something else altogether! but for me it is still amazing how different bikes and cars seemingly appear from nowhere out here,
then across a moonlight Second Road and head for home,
during the day we had watched the epic How the West Was Won, an all star cast giving great performances as one would expect, we had in fact watched it before but quite some time ago,
Around The World In 80 Gardens was next featuring some from the United States of America, I hate to say it, but they were not my cup of tea at all, however the next section from China and Japan I just loved, although not a true garden the part where Monty goes to the Yellow Mountains (Huangshan Mountian), was truly spectacular, what for me was particularly touching, steel cables have been placed at some of the highest views of the mountains, couples in love have padlocks engraved with their names on them, the padlock is locked on the cable, the key thrown into the abyss, only when one partner climbs down to retrieve that key and unlock the padlock can their love ever be broken,
to round the evening off a few more Tales of the Unexpected, this time of the 4 or 5 we watched Death Can Add had the worst twist, Oliver Platt is defrauding his firm Bulmont Investments, Alan Corwin, an auditor, tumbles to Oliver's deception and demands a quarter of a million in hush money, but Oliver has two cases, one with the money in it one with a bomb in it, Oliver's lover, his devoted secretary Leila decides to switch cases, but which one does she pick up? then off to bed.
