Saint Patrick's Day Today,

also Mahendra and friends have arrived,
so off we go but first a quick look at the plants,
one of the hibiscus has another huge flower,
we took the truck to the Hotel Mahendra was staying at on Second Road, Sabai Resort, set in 16 acres it is huge, but just as we neared it, about 200 yards away the St. Patricks procession took off from out of the Alcazar car park, so Second Road came to a complete standstill, if only we had left two minutes earlier! all of our friends were staying in an enclosed area of the resort, with it's own private pool and amenities, after a long chat and thanking Mahendra for bring lots of DVD's and books over for us and Suda and friends for bring over Diana's favorite, chocolate aeros and PG tips tea bags for me, we were off back to 388,
dropped of the truck and on to the Punch & Judy, for their St. Patricks day celebrations,
it is a day for the Irish, what better way to celebrate it than with that most Irish of stouts a Guinness?
Diana was feeling a little peckish, so she ordered a beefburger, it was huge!
at first there were not many in the bar, but as the time of the entertainer starting the place really started to fill up,
and here he is hailing from Boston, to my eternal shame I forgot to make a note of his name,
by now I was on to my second Guinness, won the hat and the singer was belting out numbers from Ireland and more than a few modern ballads,
I then spotted Russ and surprised him in the doorway,
Russ too fancied a Guinness, followed by a Tiger, but by then had won the T shirt!
'Cheers!' from all of us,
three of the lovely ladies at The Punch and Judy,
then Diana won a prize, a table cover,
then we all were awarded a lucky shamrock badge,
by now it was late, Russ and myself felt a bit peckish, so out with the wine and order some food,
medium steak for me,
bangers and mash for Russ,
naturally Russ had to pose for the camera!
to round the meal off a Banoffee pie, according to the recipe the first one made was at the Hungry Monk in 1972, the restaurant is in Jevington, Nr Eastbourne, Polegate, Sussex, BN26 5QF Telephone: 01323 482178, I did not know that, all to soon the evening came to a close, we bid Russ goodnight and staggered home, by now I was feeling more than a little tired so for once before one in the morning for us we were off to bed.
