We Popped Over To See Mr. Tony,

his house looking as beautiful as ever,

unfortunately we had chosen a day when Booie was not there,

but Mr. Tony's dogs came over to say hello, well more to the truck than us!

as usual the swimming pool was crystal clear,

Diana had to have a pose by it,

his pool is surrounded on three sides by the house, the pool looked so inviting,

I have seen these flowers so many times,

but I do not have a clue as to what their English/Latin name is, but they look so strange,

we spent the day chatting away then back to 388, feet up for Swiss Family Robinson, a 1960 film, a family in route to New Guinea is shipwrecked on a deserted tropical island, plenty of adventure ensues as the family deals with issues of survival and pirates, great family entertainment, though I doubt it could be filmed today, the animal rights along with H & S groups would have a field day, but as an aside I read a translation from the original so many years ago, each chapter had a heading of what it contained, it was in fact a natural history wonder in itself, almost to the point of being a book about natural wonders with the family thrown in to make it a better read!

then to another in the Ultimate Crimes series, Crime And Prejudice, in each of these DVDs there are three parts, each almost a programme in itself, compelling viewing, made the more so by knowing what we are watching really happened,

then back to a Boys Own adventure, the 1959 version of Journey to the Center of the Earth, Prof. Lindenbrook leads his intrepid party on an expedition to the centre of the earth, via a volcano in Iceland, the Victorian setting just right for this movie inspired by another book from the pen of Jules Verne, as good as 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea that we watched a few days ago, but this time with monster dinosaurs rather than a giant squid, we both enjoyed it immensely,

Left for Dead from the Midsomer Murders series gave me the strange feeling of déjà vu, I was convinced I had seen the episode a long time ago, but it had been updated some how, perhaps I mean déjà éprouvé, the good news was that it was such a long time ago I could not remember what happened next, worse still thinking I had seen it before I still could not figure out who did the murder, the story starts near the construction site of a bypass when an elderly couple are found dead in their home, but what dark secrets does their home hold? then for us off to bed.
