Mention The Words Diesel And Motorbike In The Same Sentence,

and you will usually be met with a blank stare,

there have been a few diesel motorbikes in the past, like the one above I remember from a few years ago the 6.5 hp Royal Enfield, a few others have tried, but typically the question seldom asked of a bike is, 'is there any way to make this bike any slower, heavier, noisier and smellier?', the answer of course is to make a diesel version of it,

but all of this might change as Nato forces have operated a single-fuel policy (diesel) since the mid-Eighties, but nobody has yet come up with a truly successful diesel motorbike, but now there is the Track T800 looking to fill the role, it uses the Smart Car 800cc turbo diesel engine, the Track is the brainchild of talented engineer Erik Vegt, of EVA Products in Holland, top speed is quoted at 102mph, with fuel consumption above 80mpg which, with a 4.2-gallon tank, gives a range exceeding 340 miles,

so if you are interested in slipping on spilled diesel when you fill up, here is the technical bit,
Price/on sale: £15,995/now
Power/torque: 50bhp @ 3,000rpm/74bhp @ 1,800rpm
Top speed: 102mph

would I like one? at a dry weight of nearly 500lbs it is more than a bit heavy, also I am not into off road bikes so a no for me, but for Nato it is number one in a field of one, so it could be the answer to Natos single-fuel policy.
