Today Is The Day That The True Vision 'Engineers' Arrived,

our new television and sound system all working well,

we had decided to subscribe to the satellite service, I pointed out where the old dish had been the mounting bracket still in place as was the cable, it just had to be made a little longer in the house, but no, the new dish was going to be in a new position, so one guy tuned in the television,

or reception box, so far so good,

outside the bracket was being placed, inside a new hole had to be drilled through the wall, that was when the problems started,

after drilling the hole water started to trickle into the front room, the drill had cut through a water pipe, worse was to come, the guy then decided to drill another hole, but this time instead of just a dribble of water the new hole must have gone completely through the centre of the pipe, water gushed in to our living room, I am trying to think of a word like panic, but more so, water was spraying all over the floor and the electrics, quickly unplugged, the speakers and TV stand being rapidly moved away from the increasing flood water,

for what seemed like forever one of the engineers put both finger in to the holes to stop the flood whilst the other one cut some bits of stick to plug them, many towels wrung out into buckets later and things were starting to dry out, so work was continued, but a change of approach was needed, this time drill the hole from the outside,

where he promptly drilled through the same pipe, again, I kid you not! again bit of a panic, though this time not by me but by the guy that was holding the drill, still connected to the mains and being covered in water, luckily I had already called Arry who is the local builder, the engineers having made sure that the satellite dish worked quickly disappeared, strangely enough they did not ask for a tip,

Arry has removed some of the outside wall and repaired the first pipe, the second to follow, he said that when it brick work has dried he will call round to cement the pipes back into the wall,

the new dish in place, though I still think they should have used the old bracket and then may be just run a new length of cable through the old hole, but then what do I know?

we watched satellite for almost all of the evening, but we had to get our final dose of New Tricks, firstly Half Life, the investigation of Christopher Collins, who was listed on a website as missing, goes nowhere until it is revealed that he was in the witness protection programme, but who was his minder and why was he not reported missing? then the last in Tiger Tiger, suicide by tiger is what it looked like, but appearances can be deceiving, so a sad farewell to series 8, but we are looking forward to series 9, with that we were off to bed.
