I Must Admit I Do Like Toys,

trains, cars, boats and planes,

but I was amazed when I saw this one, it at first appears to be nothing special, a typical tin toy boat built by German toy-maker Marklin in 1905, it is a model of H.M.S. Terrible an 'interpretation' of the 1895 Royal Navy ship used in the Siege of Ladysmith during the Boer War, the model is steam powered, so a toy even then for the better off families of the time, but against all expectations this toy with buyer’s premium bumped the price up to a staggering £89,000! I remember many years ago Chris and myself went to the Brighton & Hove Steam museum where a toy auction was being held, why o' why did we not buy one of these?
