Do Not Mess With Fish 162,

and you thought fish were fun!

when looking at the video the thought 'we need a bigger boat' came to mind, in Heilongjiang River, at Tongjiang, a city that borders Russia in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province a mighty monster lurked, it was a Kaluga sturgeon, Chen Lin, local fisherman who caught fish commented, 'I have never seen see such a huge Kaluga before', the fish weighed in at 308.5-kilograms, (680 pounds), the good news is that the fish is a female with an estimated 1.2 million eggs in her, she has been moved to a breeding station where hopefully this critically endangered specie will be bred and the resulting fry released back into the river system,

I am not sure about the size of the biggest sturgeon ever caught with a rod and line, but this one must be pretty close to the record, allegaly caught in the Willamette River in Oregon near Oregon city, it was said to weigh 1,000 lbs (454 kilograms), some 11'1" long and girth of 56 inches, but this picture of the fish may not be from the Willamette river, the fact that the fisherman are in the water holding it means it is not in Oregon where that is illegal to do, in Oregon fishermen are not allowed to lift any part out of the fish out of the water unless it is less that 60", posing for photos in the water with the fish is the standard procedure on the Frazer river in BC, which is where this fish was thought to be caught a few years ago.
