Straight On With The Post,

we did not find anything that we found interesting, amusing or just plain weird in the news today,

firstly we have returned to the old picture size, although liked by some the overwhelming number of friends I spoke to said that it was difficult to see the picture and read the text at the same time as the picture was too big, so on to the post, more rain,

as the day wore on it rained harder,

luckily there were breaks in the showers which I think let water drain away,

but the rain continued off and on for most of the day,

Mr. Tony was in town so he called over for a coffee, as we said goodbye to him we spotted this on one of the lights on our wall,

one of the biggest praying mantis's we have seen,

it looked fearsome, worse still as I got closer to take its picture he started looking at my fingers on the camera,

so one last look and we went back indoors,

I know we have watched it before but The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus just has to be seen more than a few times, this was what I wrote the last time we watched it, 'if you like Terry Gilliam's work this is a must for you, the basic premise is that a travelling show in London allows people to walk through a magic mirror into Doctor Parnassus's mind, the Imaginarium, it is pretty confusing in there, well he is 1,000 years old! then the adventures begin, great surreal effects, costumes and players,' the film also has a star studded cast, a pleasure to watch again,

back to reality, many of the episodes of Colditz have roots in actual events that took place, one of the episodes we watched tonight was entitled Tweedledum, which was based on RAF officer George Marsh's successful though ultimately disastrous escape by faking madness and being repatriated back to England, on his arrival back to the UK he was committed to a metal institution, the senior British officer banned all further attempts at being repatriated that way, but it appears some years later after the end of the war Marsh made a full recovery,

next we started on Episode 5 of Silent Witness, The World Cruise, a known racist telephones home in the UK from Belgium where a body is subsequently found, the MO the same as two other killings in London, but was the racist set up? with that it was now late so for us off to bed.
