We Were Up Early As We Were Going To The Bike Show At Silver Lake,

as there are a lot of pictures I have split the post into three parts,

this year there was a change of venue, a little further out of town the Burapa Pattaya Bike Show had it's advantages at it's new location,

so much more room which meant there were many more exhibitors,

also more room for people to stay overnight,

we were very early, arriving just after 09.20 in the morning,

so many of the stall holders had not yet arrived,

or woken up! there was a bit of a do here last night by all accounts,

a quick reminder for those that are interested, there is another bike show in Phuket in April,

one of the downsides about being early is that a lot of the bikes we found out do not arrive till late in the afternoon,

they leave Pattaya at 02.00 in the afternoon and make their way to the show ground,

but there was still lots to look at and of course buy like these,

walking round I noticed this Triumph,

I had one similar in the UK back in the late 1960s, this the tank grid used for attaching luggage resulted in me having 7 broken bones and 70+ stitches in my right hand after a telegraph pole got the better of me!

I am not sure what this one is but it certainly looks like it was made for the future,

there were of course lots of custom builders here displaying their wares,

this German Harley from East Coast Choppers,

like the one Philip owns it has a super charger, it appears in standard form they need a bit more go,

strangely wig-wams appear to be a popular way to spend the night here,

there were more than a few here,

this is the main stage for this evenings concert,

as well a big bikes there are almost countless small ones like this neat one, although over 20 years old it looks immaculate,

also there was a display of war items, including a aircraft fuselage, which must have taken a bit of effort to get it here,

lots of bits and pieces for sale,

even a whole fight control panel,

 a fully loaded Jeep,

that Diana just had to try,

which was attached to some type of bomb, if you ever watched a Simpsons episode that parodied Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb I can just imagine Homer sitting on it,

now this is a 'must have' for every kids bedroom,

a full cockpit complete with ejector seat, imagine the fun you could have with your friends, 'yes thats it, pull the yellow handle!',

there were also a couple of plane engines I guess for sale,

 a flat 6 anyone?

even a river patrol boat was on display,

a look towards the Buddha mountain,

 a few more wig-wams,

then I thought I saw my name,

but it was Siam not Stan, note to self, I must buy a new pair of glasses!

there were a few cars on display as well,

mainly American,

but there were a few German ones,

a nice couple of British bike, a Triumph and a Ariel,

 and another Triumph,

there are a couple of companies offering powered flights, but no details in this one,

back to cars, another couple from Germany,

although I do not think this is the standard bodywork!

a nice row of small bikes,

small though they are small it is still impressive that amount of work that the owners have spent on these,

we then bumped into a friend we had not seen for a long time, Tony,

it was hot work walking around,

 the sun beating down,

so what better than a refreshing early morning cocktail?

which we shared,

 another bike for sale,

this time a BMW, this model not really my taste,

but is you want to buy it here is the info you need,

at 02.00 in the afternoon I guess this is the road that the bikes will be arriving on,

Diana looking as lovely as ever,

 a chopped 4 cylinder trike,

this chopper with a rather unusual petrol tank,

we then found an area which was made to look like an early American petrol station, complete with visible pumps,

 and old cars,

not to mention an old Indian,

 and Harley- Davidson motorbikes,

 also this flamer,

but if you look carefully you can see they are all based on this Road Wing bike, with that we left the show, but next year we will make a later start, we were now of to see a new venture in Pattaya the Mimosa shopping and dining complex, just hit the 'older posts' button if you can not see it.
