 when I first looked at French artist Thomas Lamadieu's examples of SkyArt

to create his SkyArt, the artist first photographs odd perspectives of various urban skylines, he then fills in the strange shapes between building and atmosphere with whimsical drawings, and how does he do it? he uses Microsoft Paint to build his little characters. He says, "There is an old school side that I like with this software.", it certainly gives looking up at the sky through buildings a new take.
