It Had Been Raining All Night,

but had just about stopped,

by the time we made our way over to Nick and Maureen's,

 we were going fishing,

the skies still grey and overcast,

but compared to the last few weeks pleasantly cool,

beers ordered and we were fishing,

 first blood to Nick,

and the good news was that it was big enough to eat,

which brought the lakes two resident cats running,

 well waiting,

as the fish was cooked, Diana removed the flesh from the bones,

then something caught the attention of this one,

a kitten, which for no reason took fright and ran for all it was worth back to the safety of the main building, so now there were at least three resident cats, we will have to catch bigger fish in the future if we are going to feed than all,

 Diana happy as usual,

a few left overs for the cats,

over on the other side of the lake some lotus had bloomed,

meanwhile underfoot a butterfly had landed,

different ones had been fluttering by all morning, but this was the only one to land nearby,

also stopping for an occasional rest this dragonfly,

 called by,

for more than a few times,

the wingspan on this one was just a few inches across,

but in prehistoric days it and its close relatives the griffinflies could have wingspans of over 2 feet!

during the course of the day Nick continued to catch fish, whilst I seated next to him using the same bait just watched my float, apart from an occasional wobble, do nothing, that is the way the afternoon ended 5 - 0 to Nick, I did not catch a thing!

if you want to fish here, it is the Mamak fishing park, their map above, it is off of Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), turn into the Soi from Sumkivitt, once in the Soi go over the railway crossing and continue for a couple of miles, the road starts to go downhill, near the bottom of it you will see the road the fishing park is in on the right hand side, almost opposite the big pink building on the left, follow that for a while, it twists and turns a bit and the fishing park is on the left next to a soccer ground, there are rods and tackle for hire and bait to buy, plus a fridge full of beer!

next to Nick and Maureen's home, as we arrived we were treated to some home made sausage rolls, then later in the evening a meal,

roast pork with all of the trimmings,

'Cheers!', we followed the meal with cheese and biscuits and some ice cream, then the serious part of the evening, Monopoly,

I was out first, followed by Diana then Nick as Maureen swept us all before her, after thanking Nick and Maureen for their hospitality we made a move for home, on the television the quiz show Celebrity Chase had just started, and a good show it was too, the first three contestants had got through the first round, although as usual we had never seen or heard of any of the 'celebrities' before, until the last contestant Julian Clary who we had heard of took his turn and double the prize money to £100,000, the heat was on, in the last two rounds the contestants were victorious and split the prize equally between the contestant's 4 charities that they support, proving for once that fame can equal brain, we watched a little more television then for us we were off to bed.
