Day One,

and we are off,

 on our Cambodian/Vietnam adventure,

 on to the new motorway,

 and we are airport bound,

 we made good time,

and guess who we are flying with?Bangkok Airways of course!

 and here we are,

 safe and sound,

we parked directly opposite the check in desk,

but had our bags plastic wrapped first,

we checked-in in no time at all and no queues at customs or immigration, straight in and out,

so time for a photo shoot,

 and lots of time,

 to go shopping,

 lots of shopping!

 the airport was really quiet,

normally I try to keep other shoppers out of the picture,

but today it was difficult to fine someone to put into the picture!

we had to stop by Michael Koors, sure enough one of Diana's handbags was on display,

a few more shops to go,

 past the OTOP store,

 and then time for breakfast,

no prizes for guessing where Diana was eating!

a coffee and a sandwich for myself,

burger, chips and a coke for Diana,

the coffee was so nice I had another one,

nicely decorated as well,

we made our way to gate C,

past the last few shops,

and on to the areoplane,

a quick pose from Diana,

and Nemo,

Diana had a window seat,

so we watched a Thai jet take off,

then for us up, up and away!

food was served,

but no sooner had we eaten it than we landed,

at Siem Reap airport,

a quick walk to the airport building, visas issued,

and in 15 or so minuets we were in our hotel,

and very nice it looked too,

whilst checking in I had a look around, and spotted a loom,

and a lady weaving in the foyer,

a complementary cocktail greeted us,

and here was a bit of fun, a small two person lift,

at the rear of the hotel the pool,

and outside dining area,

we were on the first floor, so a look down to the fish pools in the center of the buildings wings,

our room,

was huge compared to most hotel rooms we have stayed in,

we also had a lounge,

and entrance hall,

not to mention a large bathroom,

we both thought this was neat, a home music center with music pre-loaded,

another neat touch a fresh coffee making machine,

after a freshen up we made a move to the downstairs bar,

but decided to sit inside,

just opposite the bar,

which was immaculate,

we were served with a complimentary sauce and dips,

'Cheers!', from Diana,

and myself,

drinks over we made a move for town passing the lady playing a hammered dulcimer,

as we moved outside we spotted these,

two beauties parked outside,

US$2 for the tuk-tuk,or tricycle I guess they re called here and we were in Pub Street,

and guess what? there were lots of pubs init!

and more than a few restaurants,

plus mobile stalls and shops,

selling all manner of things,

like this one selling squid,

we walked to the end of the street to the night market,

which was a picture at night,

feeling hungry,

we made our way back past the stalls,

some were so tempting,

like this one,

but we resisted,

eating and giving the fish a feed!

fresh fruit would be better,

we made our way back to where the larger restaurants were,

we were spoilt for choice,

but chose this one in the end, that had the food selection outside of it when we arrived at Pub Street, regrettably we have both forgotten its name,

a quick 'Cheers!',

as my prawn dish arrives,

Diana went for,

a King prawn,

and then our main courses arrived,

a chicken dish for Diana,

a slice of lamb for myself,

the table had some grass like decoration, so I tried some, guess what?it was grass,

back to the hotel,

and a nightcap in the bar,

a small wine for myself,

a coffee,

for Diana and with that we were off to bed.
