Question,

what have the two gentlemen pictured below,

got in common? the gentleman above is Walt Disney, I have since our visit to Disneyland been reading about him, his work, life and company, one thing I never suspected was that he knew and worked with this gentleman,

Salvador Dali, in 1937, Dalí wrote, 'I have come to Hollywood and am in contact with three great American Surrealists, the Marx Brothers, Cecil B. DeMille, and Walt Disney',

after they meet in early 1945 at a party in Hollywood, Disney engaged Dalí to design a surrealistic animated short to be part of a packaged film in the vein of Fantasia, Destino, out of over 200 story sketches and drawings that Dalí and Hench created for this short film, only 150 or so are accounted for in The Walt Disney Animation Research Library and the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation, but who knows, in a dusty cupboard somewhere the others might be found, the film was finally completed and released in 2003 but I would never have thought Disney and Dali who were born oceans apart would work together, for more about the friendship and work of these two men, have a look here at The Walt Disney Family Museum.
