Ninja Cats,

it may sound strange,

but looking at these photographs,

 you could almost believe it,

Japanese photographer Hiroyuki Hisakata ventures off to an island populated by stray cats to photograph his feline friends, playing with them and capturing them in dynamic martial arts poses that have earned them the nickname Ninja Cats,

armed with an Olympus digital camera and a bag full of cat toys, he goes out to take some totally unique pictures,

although he’s based in Kyushu, Hisakata keeps his locations top secret, He often shoots in the evening,

the results are humorous and playful, and have been compiled into two different photobooks,

one featuring adult cats and the other featuring kittens, and no I am not on commission, I just put these on in case you want to buy these pictures of Ninja cats,

Hisakata is on Twitter where he posts pictures of the stray ninja cats, what a neat thing to do, and playing with the outdoor feral kittens that have adopted us, they really do enjoy a little game with some of our cats toys.
