Out For Sunday Lunch,

so it was glad rags on,

and we were off to one of our favourite places to eat, The George, we have eaten there many times before

it is in Chaiyaphruek 2 Rd, if you are going away from Pattaya heading towards Sattahip on the Sukhumvit Road when you arrive at the Chaiyaphruek traffic lights turn right and the restaurant/pub is about 100 yards along the road on the left hand side,

We made our way past the well stocked bar,

today roast pork, beef and chicken along with pigs in blankets, stuffing, roast potatoes, and Yorkshire puddings,

and a nice selection of vegtables,

we sat at the rear of the restaurant,

for those of a sporty nature there is a pool table,

Mr. Tony very kindly called in to pick us up, for starters He chose home made pate,

Diana went with soup of the day chicken,

and a prawn salad for Myself,

after a long break We were up for our main courses, being served by an ever smiling George,

who kindly broke into Her busy day,

and took a few pictures of us,

all set, then time to tuck in,

the meal was so full of flavour something that at times out here is sadly lacking, I must ask Ian where He buys His meat! then a real treat, unlike some restaurants where the dessert is just a blob of ice cream, here Ian goes the whole 9 yards, with this delicious dessert included in the 395 baht per person Sunday roast,

 a first class dessert,

 which we all enjoyed,

then time for our Irish, or in My case Jamaican coffees, which are not included,

expertly made and served by Ian,

delicious, this has got to be the best value for money in town, not to mention how nice the food is, as someone once said, 'We will be back!' and we will, the food here is so nice and the atmosphere so pleasant, We have booked this table for Our Christmas dinner, but I know We will be back before then!

speaking of going back I keep meaning to take a picture of this rather unique hotel that We pass on the Sumkivitt Road near to Makro on our way back home,

well here it is, The Train Resort

arriving home with Mr. Tony We all watched the first episode of I Didn't Know You Cared, for Me hilariously funny, so much so I managed to nearly choke myself on some red wine!

then to the film for the evening, The Charge of the Light Brigade, the epic story of friendship, rivalry and dash that led up to the fateful charge, on Oct 25, 1854, forever remembered in Alfred Lord Tennyson's famous poem,

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
'Forward the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns!' he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
'Forward, the Light Brigade!'
Was there a man dismayed?
Not though the soldier knew
Some one had blundered:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them
Cannon in front of them
Volleyed and thundered;
Stormed at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.
Flashed all their sabres bare,
Flashed as they turned in air
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army, while
All the world wondered:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right through the line they broke;
Cossack and Russian
Reeled from the sabre-stroke
Shattered and sundered.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volleyed and thundered;
Stormed at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came through the jaws of Death,
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.
When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wondered.
Honour the charge they made!
Honour the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred!

and after all of that We had built up an appetite in the evening, so Diana disappeared into the kitchen and returned with a selection of sausages, chips and bread rolls for us all to tuck into, after saying our goodbyes to Mr. Tony for us it was a couple of quiz shows and We were off to bed.
